I have just discovered from my mechanic when i had my front airbags replaced this week, that I am missing a little metallic (valve?) into which the rubber tube which carries air into the airstrut goes into. The mechanic said that this little metallic thing seals the connection, and because it is missing, my left hand side front airbag still goes down when the car is parked & does get pumped up as it should while driving. Does anyone know what this part is called, and where i could find one to buy? The mechanic couldn't find any at the wreckers around. Cheers

there shouldnt be a valve at the strut. only o rings to seal the pressure in. the valve is in another part and it controls to put more pressure in or let it out. i can vouch personally these were in perfect nic when i took them out. try getting new o rings for the pipe fitting. if not and you had the problem before may be a problem with a valve i think they are in drivers front quarter infront of the wheel.

I will try to take a photo. what i have missing, it could be an o ring to seal the pressure in. its not something that comes with the strut, might have been attached the rubber tube carrying air into the strut, that is what i apparently have missing. so i was probably wrong in saying that it is a valve.

Sorry for the late reply, just been back to my mechanic & i have a better understanding of the missing part. what i am missing is this little brass/metallic cylinder with a tip at the end which goes into circled rubber tube which is fed into the airbag and basically seals the tube (also missing one or two o-rings which fit around the end of the tube and this metallic cylinder/end).
