Hi guys, I just bought a soarer 91 V8. I found that that there is a button showing TEMS just below the Automatic stick. What is this button for? I put on to off mode and my right rear air suspension was broken. Is it related to that TEMS button? I want to know that it is better to change all my old air bag suspension to coil suspension. If so,do you know any good mechanic near Concord Sydney area? thanks guys

Hi David and welcome,
Depending on where you go, new airbag struts cost about $800-$1000 each, plus labour.
It would be far more economical to switch to traditional struts. From my experience, there is little difference in ride quality, unless you choose some rock hard "drift spec" suspention.
The only problem is the car will not be original as such. But if you can live with that (I can't), it's a smarter option.
You could always find some second hand air struts, but most of these will be fairly worn already..
TEMS is Toyota Electronically Modulated Suspension, it stiffens the suspension when hard braking is detected or acceleration, or I think swift cornering too.
But your problem seems to Lie in the Airbag units and yes they are expensive to replace.
