Hi guys, Im sure this has been covered a million times, but with a lack of stickys or tech faq on suspension, I cant find the answer im looking for. Basicly, I want to lower my TT, not overly concered about having the best handling car (if I did, I wouldnt of bought a 1.6ton soarer) I just want the look. Yes I know going to low will hinder handling, blah blah blah. Trying to work out what everyone else does to achieve the lowered stance. Seen a few soarers with the stock springs replaced with king springs, but they still ride high! I was thinking of going supra shocks with low king springs to suit. Is it possible for you guys to post up a pic and state what setup you are running so I can get an idea of what I need. Of and why doesnt this site have stickys or a special section on everyday questions like this, would make things alot easyer?

Oh how annoying, I get that with this site now and then. Not sure what is up with that. Possible, to just post the pics up and a quick run down of your specs. Its apprecitated. Thanks mate

No problems, I've got Tanabe Precedeo springs + KYB GR2 struts. If they were 1cm higher at the front, and 1cm lower at the back they would be perfect.

Thanks James I like the ride height, Any idea if the kyb's effect the ride height over stock shocks? Cheers

Hey James, How are you finding the KYBs? I've heard some good and some bad things about their reliability and handling. I'm considering pairing them with a set of Tein springs...how have you found them?

David - Not sure if they are any different in length, I never got to compare them with the stock struts. Jesse - They're OK, mine are pretty old tho so I can't make a fair judgement on them. From what I've read, the GR2's aren't a performance shock so they probably aren't a good match for the springs. Over large corrugations and bumps the ride can get pretty unsettled - new front end bushes would also help out. If I keep the car for a while I will probably replace them with Bilstein's. I have brand new KYB's in the front of my (stock height) R31 Skyline and for the price, I think they are great.

Ok I think I may have to consider them a bit more seriously then. Bilsteins would of course be nice (ok more than nice) but also expensive. Thanks for your help James

Thought of coilovers? That way you can go as low as you're happy with.

Does anyone have any comments on the change in handling after fitting coilovers?

My understanding David is a much firmer - race car like ride....very stiff not a smooth ride at all. If I'm wrong feel free to correct what i said guys as I havent fitted my coil overs yet, just going off what other have told me

Nathan, Thanks mate. I do understand they make the ride firmer, But comments like people saying, the fitment of coilovers made my soarer corner like its on rails. Are they a little over exagerated perhaps? They are a big heavy car, Can they somewhat be made to handle very well? or just a crap load better then stock but still nothing special.

David, I'm running coilovers in mine... along with 265 wide front tyres and 285 wide semi slick rears. I will say it has it all over my old V8 soarer which just had lowered springs and bilstein struts. It is less comfortable though... I guess it all depends on where your priorities lie

Why? It looks awesome! The rims suit it nicely too, are they semi slicks on the back I see?

Yeah, Nitto NT555R's I just think the Bomex kit makes it look like a hovercraft a bit from side on... like its riding on a pillow

These come up... and with the coilovers I decided that the 19's would be just a bit too rough of a ride
