Are the TTs base adjustable? I was told they are not base adjustable and as such are illegal on australian roads as they dont comply.

Whats the difference between the TTs and the HRs? Other than being grey and green haha

From Otomoto website

The new TT type coilovers from HSD have been designed with "every-day" driving comfort.

They use a twin-tube damper design (hence ‘TT’) which is less aggressive than the large-diameter mono-tube type dampers in the HR series.

Spring rates are also generally 20-30% softer than the race-oriented HR series.

In most cases the top mounting plate features a rubber bushing to reduce noise and harshness, but for strut replacements a camber-adjustable pillow-ball top is used for a larger range of camber adjustment.

Like the HR series the new TT uses an adjustable base bracket for easy height adjustment. The dampers also feature a 12-step adjuster for damping force.

They are base adjustable
And have Rubber Bushings

I've had the HR's for a couple of years now and they have been fantastic, quite firm but handles like it's on rails. I'm sure you wont be disappointed

How much were these coilovers, if i may ask? Also, if your front airbags are good (no leaks air/oil), i would be interested in buying them. My front LH airbag is currently dying, & the front RH airbag is worn quite a bit as well. Cheers :-)

My advice for HSD's would be to pull them apart before you chuck them under the car and make sure that the longer shock bodies (which have a slightly shorter travel) are together with the rear springs. Mine came back to front and i didnt check them before I put them in the car.. Very annoying..

This is assuming that the parts are all the same size, which would make sense from a manufacturing point of view.

The suspension is all installed and 95% adjusted height wise.

Currently the front guard is sitting flush with the top of the tyre. The rear guard is sitting 1cm below the top of the tyre.

The shock dampener adjustment on the front is at the max (how low the car is). The rear is set at 6

That's quite low Scott.

Keep an eye on the left front wheel well lining as you will likely begin to rub and a wiring loom sits just on the inside of the guard.

Matt.

Looks good, Scott.

I'd been very keen to hear your comments on these after you've done a bit of driving on them. I too have been eyeing them off on the Otomoto website given the price and it'd be good to get some real world feedback.

this afternoon i raised the front from 60mm to 110mm. NO MORE SCRUBBING AT THE FRONT.

it has raised the front 1 1/4" above the tyre.

the car is softer than my sisters NA JZA80 standard suspension over the initial bump. the car sits dead flat when flying around a corner.

if you do track day's like Ben and a few others in this forum definatly go the HSD HR SERIES.

If you are like me and use the car everyday to go to the shops, cruise on the highway, to and from work etc. i cannot recommend the HSD TT SERIES enough. people who had rode in my car could not tell that i changed my suspension

yeah still sits alright but now should have sufficient clearance at the front to not scrub.
we actually moved the front from 60mm to 76mm so has almost an inch between tyre and guard height.
rear is still dumped :-)

can you guys please use the industry standard of Center wheel to guard?

It makes it much easier to compare your cars to others, and its a level method for all suspensions to be measured by.

Thanks

Seems that the TT series are developed on tt soarers and with the extra weight of the v8 (1660 1/3 tank when bluesliped) the 20 - 30% softer spring rate and the use of twin tube shocks were not upto dampening the bumps. (got some nice scrape marks under the front guards at standard tt height)

After an informative phone call to Otomoto they were sent back and hopefully used for development in the future.

The HR series uses a larger 44mm mono-tube shock and stiffer springs.

The car is currently set at the same height as the TT series was. The shocks are adjusted 9 clicks front 7 clicks rear. In saying that i have only filled to a 1/2 tank of fuel everytime and not put a full tank in yet.

I am going to have to increase the shocks 1 or 2 more clicks with the use of a full tank.

The front still has some of the initial bump problem. But nowhere near as bad as before where the shock and spring was not dampening the initial hit (tt shocks were adjusted to the max).

The TT series are a great product that Otomoto produce and i feel that the problems i have had may not present themselves in a 6 cyl TT, JZA80 supra (less weight).

If people are buying coilovers for the v8 go straight to the HR series.

What spring rates were you using with the TT series and now with the HR series.

The default (from what I have read) HR series springs are stupidly hard 18kg front and 10kg rear.
