Cheers for all the help Myles...

Yep i'll take out the compressor this weekend.

i've got to the diagnostic plug in the boot. It seem to turn the relay on but the pump is not responsive.

Odd thing is when i turn the car on i cant hear the relay click; does this mean i have two problems?

1)My compressor wont turn on (even when i wired 12v to it) and

2)the sus computer does not turn the pump on.

Problem solved... it was a dodgy compressor

Thats good news Kim, but whats the chances of changing your engine oil and the compressor gives up ?? was it locked up ? at the end of the day you learned a lot about air suspention he he .

That's great you found out what it was but sucks that your compressor died. Was it from the coolant that you spilled?

At least you got it sorted now.

The compressor bushes were seized up. A mate of mine got it goin but i'll have to get new bushes sometime... Anyone know where i could get some?


No the coolant didn't affect it Myles. But the bushes siezed up due to corrosion over time...

It seems the compressor died and it just showed up quicker when i jacked up the car.

This is getting more common as they get older, the silicon that helps stop corrosion should be replaced more often maybe.

Hmmm have been weighing up new airbags vs coilovers.........I think after all your troubles Kim I might go coilovers and save myself trouble later on.

For the compressor bushes try taking it to a decent auto electrician , shouldn't cost much.
