I'm sure its been asked before or touched on in one of the various number of threads that are more based on what DIFF fits my car...

our soarer's with an A02A (open 4.083 diff)
can it be easily converted to an LSD. I'm told parts are interchangable with the A02B and the
A01B (supra diff with 4.083)

But really what i want to know is if anyone has done it before, what all is going to be needed to install an item such as
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-SC300-JZA80-Torsen-T-2R-helical-LSD-JZZ30-SC400-_W0QQcmdZViewIt emQQhashZitem2eb02d2cbaQQitemZ200524246202QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Theres lots of these for sale, most are from japan and for under $500USD

Also if it is easily installed.
What about the gearing ratio? I have no idea how a Diff works let alone what controls the ratio's but if the Mechanical device as seen in link above is from say a 3.73 ratio supra diff..
does it matter when i install it? or will it effectively change the ratio for my diff as well?

i like my 4.083 and intend to keep it but paying 1300 for a a02b torsen or even 800 isnt really worth it in my opinion as the cost of the whole diff itself weighs alot for shipping and costs therefore outweigh the potential to just buying the bits needed to convert our diff's from open to lsd.

I am just asking cuz buying the TRD lsd, is Specific to the car and diff model so id expect that means it can alter the gearing ratio, but i dont know jack and im sure someone can inform me and everyonelse reading this, what other parts will be needed/done when proforming this surgery on our diffs

the a02a and the a02b have the same housing just different center's

the diff ration is determined by your crown wheel and pinion

That's just a center in that link which means when they fit it you'll use your own crown wheel and pinion which won't change your ratio

hope this helps

shipping from the US/Japan would be a killer though.
