My old soarer has developed a new noise of late and I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on it.
Every now and then, when cornering hard, the steering will make the same sound that it makes when you pull against full lock.
Only happens when the fronts really loaded up and it doesnt seem to be making the steering any heavier. But, as the rack bushes need doing, it seems like a good time to sort any developing problems.
What I'm really wondering is whether this would be a rack issue or a pump one.
Cheers in advance for any advice on the matter.

check your drive/serpantine belt for signs of wear.check your power steering fluid, don't over fill as this can cause problems aswell.check that your fluid is clean and if not try a power steering flush. Check these simple things first and then start checking steering components,if your lucky it could be only one of these small maintance problems. Good luck man, hope this helps.

I've checked all those things.
No leaks and the fluid is topped up and relatively clean. (which is remarkable since I don't remember topping it up since i got the car back in late '06)
