And John, how much is he offering it for without the wheels?

I actually quite like them (and I'm not normally a fan of 20's on Soarers)

He is offering it for 8k without the wheels.
Faults i saw:
paint faded roof (badly)
paint scraped front bar (also badly)
no ac
no fuel gage
leather in ok condition
craks on both door trims
driver door latch broken

so im unsure... i offered him a little less and he is being persistant.. but the more i think about the more work this car needs to be anywhere near clean.. so in my books, its still a little much... but i am new to these cars.. so again a little unsure..

8k will get you a stockish late model TT.

Why waste your money on a f**ked old one with a heart transplant? :-)

Steer clear of this car John. Keep looking, even if it takes you months to find your ideal car, just be patient.

It took me 3 months to find my ideal car and I've never looked back.

Yeah that may be true, but i enjoy driving a manual much more, in my opinion, it gives the driver much more control over a car.

Each to their own :-)

However , an Auto with a stally is ALWAYS on boost at the drop of a hat , so i reckon that gives me more control does it not ?

Yeah this maybe true. But the a manual with a decent clutch lets you pik what happens when pretty much perfectly.'

But again, this is ver preferenced based topic.
