Can Ball joints be replaced on either upper or lower front control arms. Has anyone in Sydney had it done and if so where?
Thanks

Steve

It looked like the ball joint may be pressed in when I had my arms out, But I'm not sure and haven't had the need to investigate.

Cant be replaced. Even if you could, good luck finding the part numbers lol.

NOTE: if you get some 2nd hand arms, make sure they are straight. i bought one from a wrecker and it turned out, after 3 hrs of replacing my old one with the "new" one (VERY HARD TO DO), it was 3mm bent. Had to find another...word of warning :-)

How about the ball joints on left rear lower control arms?

the car is having the bushes done now and apparently the ball joint is well worn.... :..(

Whole arm ONLY Mark.

Part numbers as follows.

48730-29015 with the following sustitutes in accending order: 48730-24030 / 48740-30060 / 48740-30070.

Give Giltraps the FIRST part number, and you'll probably find it'll supercede to the last number.

Can find out price/availability tomorrow if you like?

OR you could try for 2nd. hand, but why take the risk??.

thanks again, Don. I owe you many a beer or drink of your choice.

Do you, or anyone else, have a picture of the part at fault or can you point me to one?

I'm expecting this will cost me my left nut and will of course be ex-Japan, so I will have to go ahead with my long trip south with a munted ball joint until I get back.

Scratch that- i'm being a lazy sod and will have a look for the pic myself.

I'm also writing up a quick fax to Giltrap re: the arm so expect to hear the bad news tomorrow.

I just knew there was going to be a bloody large fly in the ointment!
