Hi all, I'm wanting to get my Soarer sitting a bit lower so I enquired at Mag & Turbo and they said a 25mm drop front and back would look good. However I'm not too sure.

At the moment it's factory suspension with 265/35/18's on the back and 235/40/18's on the front. At the back the guard is 30mm from the top of the rear tyre, whereas at the front the guard is 55mm from the top of the front tyre.

The look I'm going for is the guard sitting quite close to the tyre so I'd be quite happy with the rear 25mm drop. I'm just wondering if I should drop the front a bit more (like 45mm)?

Also wondering if this is normal for UZZ30's to sit a lot higher at the front?

Thanks in advance

Ask them what springs they plan to use.

My experience is that the front sits higher over time and the drop they list will get the guard close to the tire.

Soarers can't be lowered much and most coilovers and spring sets all are about the same height.

Worth doing shocks at the same time. Get a set of Bilsteins for 600 new and it will transform the car.

They plan to use Cobra springs.

Thanks for that information, very helpful.

When you say it will transform the car do you mean the ride?

King springs are hard to get at the moment in NZ.

I have a set of new Bilsteins and supra hats and can't get any jza80 kings.

Cobra is an NZ (christchurch based) spring manufacturer.

How would standard height supra springs and shocks sit on a soarer?

Matt, I've got the part no's for Supra and Soarer King Springs, who are the agents?

Not to bad Thomas, but I've been looking at changing to Supra lows. (Supra standards at the moment).

Anyone know what the equivalent Bilstien part no's are for Soarer shocks?

Stocks I believe are the distributors. I have tried two retailers and they both say that they are out of stock.

standard supra 1" - 1-14" lower than std soarer springs.

350mm front - 340mm rear
(height measured from center of wheel to guard)

lowered supra springs around 310 - 320mm front - 300mm rear

Cobra springs, hmmm sounds like one to avoid.

Supra springs can also work, I used a full suspension setup from a JZA80 in one of my Soarers.

That means you could use an H&R German spring kit for the Supra, it's rated at 1" lowering, but as far as I know supra springs are already lower than soarer ones as stock.

http://hrsprings.com/scripts/appguide.php?Mode=Application+Guide&SubMode=Find2&Year=1994&ModelID=438 &q=1994%20|%20Toyota%20|%20Supra

I've used them in both my last cars, only suspension company I would deal with, aside from Eibach or Bilstein.
