Hi everyone,

Is there anything extra you can do to help maintain your airbags in a UZZ31? Like using some kind of rubber moisturiser or something.. I know.. sounds like a dumb question.. but if it can help the longeveity of my bags, i'm happy to be dumb!! lol :-)

Also, any do's and don'ts when it comes to bags.. like changing the ride height whilst driving etc...??

Cheers!!

Never thought about it but that's a reasonable question...

there's lots of cosmetic options which talk about longer UV lasting etc, but i wonder if there's something less cosmetic and more practical to keeping the rubber alive..

I just googled a bit to not much useful info but stuff like:
http://www.ngt-recycledrubber.com/rubber_renew_rejuvenator.html

seems more reasonable rather than the more cosmetic stuff. Of course using the wrong product may just decrease the life of your rubber.

If you have an airbag height controller fitted don't dump the crap out of it, should help some :-)

I'd be more worried about the shocks going out first, maybe try some silicone spray or other rubber treatment.

The rubber "bag" wont be affected by UV as its covered by a protective boot

I tend to agree with Myles, its usually the damper that fails before the airbag itself
