By the way Gary, a stupid question if I may? If you are selling your top hats, does that mean that the coil overs come with all the bits necessary?, including the top hats? That was always the catch from all the reading that I have done, needing top hats. Feel like I'm repeating myself, sorry.

Yeah Mate, the BC's come complete. You only need the top-hats if you're going to build the Billsteins.

Thanks for that. I know it sounded a silly question, but I want to get it right the first time and not muck around.

Tom, not sure how it compares to bags, I've never even been in a Limited, or a V8 for that matter.
It's a HUGE improvement over what my suspension was previously, but my shocks were pretty much shagged. It's a bit stiff and I'd probably say I'd prefer slightly softer springs, but not enough to actually change them out. It's great on a good bit of road, unfortunately there's a lot of crap roads in my area.

Tom, are you thinking of changing from airbags to coils? I still have my coils in the garage, I cannot make up my mind.

If I had any doubts about the airbags, they have been removed today. I put the battery back in the car and did the test. The front left airbag didn't even move. Just sat there on the bump stop. Oh well, I'll be ordering the coil overs tomorrow morning. Going to have a chat with the guy about spring rates for the V8. I will post more information when I have it.

Can't do it Andy, The Sus pump and power steering pump are one unit, so you can't remove the sus pump and keep power steering.

Dan, theoretically, couldnt you just swap in a uzz30/31 pump?

note: i do not condone the butchering of the 32.

Nope, Whole front of the engine is different.

Theoretically you could swap in an engine from a UZZ31 and it would work.

Have finally ordered the coilovers this morning. I spoke with Matt from Just Jap auto imports, who said that the spring rate will give a slightly tighter ride than O.E.M., especially in the V8, so I will know in a week when I fit them. I can't wait!

Well it's done. Put the new suspension in yesterday morning. I noticed the weight of the old air bags and compared it to the new coilovers, there is about 20 kgs saved alone. Every little bit counts. The ride is fantastic, and ride height is near perfect, though I can't get her in the driveway, but that's alright, the driveway needs a bit of work. Took her up the Kuranda range at speed without an incident. She sticks like glue with very little roll. Just lovely! Much better than the airbags, she always felt a bit like the tail was always just a little bit behind the front. Now she seems to be point and shoot. We didn't touch any of the major settings on the shocks, just put the ride more towards the hard end of the range.
Thanks guys for all of the help and advice, especially Gary, and Peter, the moderator for having created this site. None of this would have been possible without the site's existence.

Hi Nem. I got B.C. coil overs from just jap imports. Spring rates were 12 kgs for the front and 8 kgs for the rear. They were the adjustable set and I have not regretted the move at all. I would recommend them any time, though, as pointed out in other threads here, they are now just starting to squeak a bit when encountering rough roads. Good Luck.
