Right so, the quote i requested for a full set of Garsons came through and it's a good price. I just have to first sell my Soarer so i can raise the funds to buy those rims for my Soarer...wait what? For those interested, $4750 landed in Perth hahahaha.

And just coming back from the track day, getting some light weight rims doesn't seem like a bad idea. So the question i have is, anyone know of some of the lighter rims available on the market today? I put jap cause i assume only jap rims come in lightweight lol.

Yang, many Work, Volk and BBS wheels come in a light weight model, others are semi-cast or have a forged barrel, SSR SP1s for instance are 100% cast, where as the competitor Work Meister S1s are forged.
Look for the 2-3 piece forged wheels as these are stronger, lighter and pieces can be replaced, rather than the whole rim if damage occurs!

Cheers for the input guys,

Yeah been looking at the Work Meister S1Rs and the Gram Light 57s PRO. Thinking 18 x 8.5/9.5 with +48/+45 (Front / Rear). Thinking of the sorta flush but nothing crazy look hahaha

+50 is stock offset, which is quite tucked in. the lower the offset the more the wheels will stick out. mine are 18x8 +35 and they are about an inch from being flush.

"you can go as low as +38 on a 10” wide wheel in the rear without any fender modifications and as low as +22 on a 10” wide wheel with your fenders rolled. your tire size plays a big role here."

I'm running 18x10 +45, 275's and they just rub a tiny bit on unrolled stock rear guards.

Sorry but Garsons? Light??? Highly doubtful if they are the ones I'm thinking of.

Look into Work Emotions or the like.

Desmond Regamasters.

hard to get in decent sizes in 17"
Rare to get in decent sizes in 18"

But they're a strong lightweight 1 piece forged wheel from russia(?) i believe...they weigh 5kg each

They're a simple 5-spoke design with stepped dish, they're my all time favourite rim, lots and lots of track cars use them and they're really sought after, Gives it a serious track-car look in my opinion.

Matt- They don't look like they would clear a decent set of brakes though?

i've seen them run on STI's and Evo's with brembos..and remember seeing an R32 GT-R with them.

I dont think big brakes is an issue..but i could be completely wrong, you could always run a bolt on spacer to clear it i guess?

Them wheels are definitely desmond regamasters. Great wheel and pretty light. They can accommodate larger brakes on nissans due to the hub/rotor design you would have to get very large offset for big brakes on soarer/supra. Would fit tt brakes fine though. Unless running spacers but i dont recommend spacers though if possible

Also know of a pair of close to same offset but in 10s for sale

I wouldn't know, I've never had a set of stock Soarer wheels on any of my Soarers lol. My genuine 17" GS300 wheels seem to be pretty light for what they are though.

Mmmmmm Regamaters are super nice but very hard to find now.
