Most likely they were Maitland bogans - much worse than Newcastle bogans .
That sucks having to go down the F3 on a space-saver. How was the drive up Putty Rd? I've always wanted to give it a go but I'm told there's often speed traps (hwy patrol).
Putty was amazing, long corners with long straights then develops into hairpins. I went on a Sunday afternoon \ night so there was just me and the road.
Didn't see a single highway patrol.
I probably wouldn't recommend it on a Friday \ Saturday night as it's pretty much Maitlands Nurburgring.
