Hi guys,
Well firstly im new to the soarer game and loving it. Just bought my first soarer, its a pearl white 1992 V8.
the interior was a real pig and had been treated very ruff but slowly starting to look very nice again. the car has only 140,000 ks on it and mechanically excellent.
However im having a real issue with the front passenger side air bag, it pumps up and stays inflated when sitting but when im driving and turn a left hand corner even just a slight one ive noticed it goes down. if i then turn right it comes back up. crazy right?
if any one could share some light on this it would be much appreciated as im starting to really enjoy this car. cheers

I have had a look at it and it seems to be fine is there any way of telling if it is the sensor that is playing up?

Yes ,turn the wheels to the right so you can get to the rod, disconnect the rod at the bottom, and with engine running push it upwards slowly, see if you can control the height by moving the rod up and down.

I had a guy in for an EMV repair.

I always give cars the once over especially as his rear end was maxed high.

I had to point out to him that one height sensor rod was broken and just being held together by a bit wire.

Ok firstly thanks guys been very helpful. It appears it is the sensor is being a bit dodgy compared to the front right hand side. Is there anything you can do to repair them as I haven't yet pulled it out. And if it needs to be replaced does any one know were I might find one? Thanks again.

ok best be getting a new one then, however i read up about the jumping of wires off the diagnostics plug in the boot, and if i pump the front right up i can lift it right up, but when doing the front left (the problem side) it only lifts a quarter of the way up before the pump starts releasing air out of the solanoid valve in the boot..??? is that a completely different problem.
Its like the bag is full and it wont allow any more air in.

The valve in the boot is only a relief valve,in case theres to much pressure in the system,it can be adjusted (maybe some ones played around with it)..air should only be heard at o/s/f.
Did you manage to get full height when pushing the rod on pass side ?

No the rod on passenger side seems to be faulty so I will replace the sensor attached at the top however when I used the diagnostics plug in the boot I still couldn't get the front passenger side to go all the way up. It only went about quarter of the way up and then stopped at that height. Could that just be because of that sensor too?

Nope couldn't get full height from using the rod. That rod doesn't seem to do anything
