Hi guys. I own a 1990 Model Toyota Crown Royal Saloon. It uses the TEMS airbag suspension system which is shared in the soarer and the Celsior. I was wondering if anyone knew a company or an individual who can convert the airbag system to the regular coil over system. The main reason I am posting this on this site is because there are not many of these cars around and so far no one has been able to help me. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

If you get no help in Vic, call Mal Edwards, parts manager for Toyota/Lexus in south Canberra, via the switch at 02 6222 1800. I suggest him because IIRC one of the grey imports he owns is the same car as yours. Feel free to mention my name, as if it would help

I'd check the price of new Toyota struts first. If they are similar to the Soarer ones in price then it would probably be as cheap to replace them and it would certainly be better.

It is possible to fit new shock inserts to the airbag struts too; if the airbags are still OK and it is just the shock that's stuffed. You'd lose the TEMS but would still have airbags.
