when i bought my soarer a couple of months ago, i had to get some new tyres for the trip from melbourne to mildura...

Bob Jane(box hill) whacked a set of Falkens on, and away i went...

the other day, i was in Bobs in mildura, and was picking out a set of 19's for my XR8 ute....got to chatting to the manager there and we got onto soarers...he told me(as someone else on this forum also stated), that the Falken tyres were incorrect load rating for the soarer...

i rang Box Hill and explained the quandary THEY found themselves in...got the call today that my new replacement tyres are ready in mildura to put on my car whenever im ready...'sorry Ross about our mistake, and we'll do you a free wheel alignment and give you a free uner-car check while youre here'...

now, i know they made the mistake, but the follow up to rectify has been outstanding...Go Bob!!!...

p.s...is the general chat???

A lot better service than in brisbane!!

Got new tyres on my mum's car and they had an apprentice doing the allignment. Dumb ass had 2 degrees too much toe on one side and 2 degrees too little on the other. The car drove ok but the front tyres were baddly feathered when I took it in for a 5000km rotation.

Had the same thing happen to me with my commodore at kmart tyre and auto.

if they did the alignment, on a car fitted with new tyres by them, then surely they have to be at fault for any uneven wear due to poor alignment?...

go on Anish...act really pissed off with them, and get free new tyres for your mags...

Anish, I had the same thing happen to me at Bob's in brisbane. I guess they are not in the business of making the tyres last forever. Had the gall to tell me I'd hit something and put the alignment out. A...holes.

Ross, another 10 000km and the mags will be on, give a few months.

I think I'll just get them to fit and balance the tyres next time. I'll take the car to a suspension/steering shop near my place to get the allignment done. Bob Jane charge $45 for the front allignment and the suspension joint charges about the same. The smaller shops seem to take their time, not try to give you a 1 hour turnaround and stuff it up.
