So i got 2 new tyres on the front a few days ago, and the lefthand front keeps going down, so i go back, and they pull it off, and they say my wheel is cracked, They show me where, and it looks like it's been fixed once before.
So my question is, do i just get it fixed again (how much SHOULD this cost)? or do i just get a new set of wheels? Considering i've only just got new tyres, i'm thinking it would be a better option to just fix again until i need new tyres again, then look at new wheels?
Thoughts?

I just got a set of 18" ANZ wheels with tyres for $1100, considering a set of 4 tyres is around $500-600 wheels are not that expensive.

I suggest you go down to the tyre factory (or similiar) and ask about a set of wheels, ask them for wheels that will suit your old tyres and have them swap em over.

What about quality? is ANZ considered good? Do i need to worry about whether i'm getting cheap crap, or decent rims?
Any suggestions as to what to get?

Not too sure, I think ANZ are alright, they are an Australian company so you can be sure they comply with Australian design regulations.

I spoke to a guy at Beaurepairs and he said stay away from the dodgy non chain cheap shops who sell chinese wheels.

I think if you go to a reputable chain such as Beaurepairs or the tyre factory you don't have to worry too much about quality.

And ask the guys there they are generally very helpful.

I would suggest you replace them, as they are only going to crack again. Also each repair will make that area week.

Chris,

anything sold in Australia from an authorised dealer etc will meet Australian standards. They will therefore be safe and of decent quality.

I would go to your preferred tyre shop and get some brochures of wheels, or get online with Bob Jane etc and use their wheel buyer program which allows you to put each set of wheels on a 2D picture of a Soarer.

You could get them repaired, and a decent job will be stronger than the surrounding area. The problem is you need to go to a specialist wheel repairer, and they are few and far between. I had two wheels repaired (dings not cracks) and they were $80 each, but the guy was in Newcastle.

Mentioning rims Ben, on your track car, are they ford BA falcon rims?

I always wanted to have some of those on the soarer but was too afraid people would notice they're ford rims.. figured i could somehow remove/replace/grind off the ford logo on that centre cap and maybe it'd be ok..

I think they really suit the soarer much better than the stock soarer rims i have...
