I have have had a clunk in rear suspension since I got my 31 and have not been able to find out what it is. All bushes seem to be good, I fitted new stabiliser links and have changed the coilovers but nothing has fixed the problem. I have thought that one day I will replace the subframe mounts but that is a very big job and wasn't keen to do it as well as costing a bit for mounts too.

Well!!! I just removed the old height adjusters from the air bag suspension and guess what? The clunk has gone.

Hey, so simple. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue but if so, pull these unneeded adjusters off.

Cheers John

John, did the "clunk" sound like you had something loose in the boot? I have the same problem but I stiil have the airbags.

Vincent - it might be the strut... caps? or towers? whatever they're called, where the struts connect to the inside of the boot, they can get a little loose and clunk.
