I need to replace the rear subframe bushes on my JZZ30 but cannot remove them.
I've loosened the bolts holding the rear subframe, undid the 4 bolts on each of the rear subframe bushes, but cannot slide them off. Is there some trick to it? It won't come off even with a puller.

Ross, I am nowhere near my cars at the moment so I cant look at the subframe to jog my memory.
But
I think I undid four bolts that go to the "floor" as such. There was also a nut on the end of the bush that needed undoing.I cant remember if the nut was fixed to a bolt that came out, or a stud fixed to the frame. I had the front subframe mounts loosened to give me some play, or they were out completely and I had a jack supporting the diff/subframe- something like that. They came off pretty easily for me.
The diff mounts in the rear of the subframe were bloody difficult though. I used heat, a cold chisel and a big hammer.

Ross have you tried spraying some crc/wd up the centre of the bushes? also i found that one of mine was fairly stuck i managed to get a flat blade screwdriver in between the centre tube and the stop plate and managed to get it to move that way.
cheers matt

Thanks for the info. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a step. I expected it to slide off after removing the but at the end of the bush but no amount of persuation could get it off. will try the CRC.

The rear bushes shouldnt need to remove subframe. They just slide off. Has probably got corrosion in there and seized.. Best bet will be to keep soaking with wd40 and see if you can work it loose. Rear subframe removal is extremely easy if i must say so myself. I had subframe removed toe/traction rods replaced, rear diff mounts removed and welded solid replacements, full rear solid mount set done and all back in roughly total about 5-6hrs.. Was by myself and not on hoist but have decent set of tools.. Right tool for the job.. Priceless

There are 4 rear sub frame bushes, 99% of the people here only replace the rear ones that slide out. the other two are impossible to replace with out pulling out the subframe!
