I am trying to install my new coil overs, and getting no where fast. It's pissing me off that much I am having serious thoughts of selling the friggin car. I mean, seriously designed/layout of the rear sus.... Anyway...
The question: While trying to undo one of rear sway bar links, one would not undo all the way, and now won't do up either. So I have a half tightened link. Obviously I am now going to have to take it to someone to get fixed. But will it be safe enough to drive 10 minutes through town?

short answer mate yes it will still be safe to drive but might mate a heck of a clunk on bumps have you tried to soak the thread in CRC or similar? also as a quick way to tighten it up get some vice grips on the shaft and turn the nut using a spanner and order some replacement links that you could fit yourself in about half and hour.

Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the little T shaped washers didn't bend. I tried with vice grips, but the set I have are to wide, so may need to buy a set of needle nose vice grips.
Where would I get a replacement link from, apart from Toyota direct?

EBay have them. When you install coilovers much easier to leave swaybar links attatched and just jack both rest wheels off and undo swaybay brackets ;) then repeat for front. I had the same problem with my swaybar links. I cut them off and brought some eBay ones

1. You dont need a sway bar to drive the car around, so shouldnt be a problem. its not like having a loose control arm or something. 2. cut that off with a dremel and install new ones from ebay. $75 for front and rear delivered.
