Some people may already have bought wheels with incorrect centres, or maybe they came with the car. If these threads catch peoples attention and end up saving only one person from having an inappropriate problem, then we are all well served with the discussion.

Not all Soarers came with 16's and anyway they make good track wheels. The engineering behind Toyota's wheel designs is also not equalled by most after market or OEM manufacturers.

I'd agree that spigot rings are not ideal, and I would never again buy wheels that needed them - having said that I have used them, and they did their job - but the point about age and money is very true, and having spigot rings is better than nothing at all.
Definitely sticking with Toyota wheels from now on - when this set of tires is done for I'll put on a set of 16" Supra wheels I think...

I replaced the transmission mount this evening - cheap ($105 for mount) and easy 25 minute job.
My transmission mount had shorn into two pieces and metal was on metal. New mount has made driving much, much smoother but vibration issue is still there at 90-100 kmh! I will be doing the engine mounts on Sunday but expect that to take around 3 hours or so.
I am fitting 19" wheels and new tyres next week with suitable hub centric rings so we will see if the problem disappears after this.
