Ok, Its happened twice now.. first one i was willing to dismiss... but 2nd..
What happens is when i drop my car to low (norm) (pretty low) then click the switch back to high, the compressor kicks in and it heightens itself to my settings.. now thats the normal part..
Before i owned an aftermarket susp controller i dropped the car down one evening, then went to heighten it and there was no response. i thought the worst, that i had damaged something.. i left the car running for about 2 hrs! and it finally kicked in yay.
Now 6 months later i have a controller (its great) but the same thing happend again to me about a week ago.. (i actually got stuck on this hump when turning around on a dirt road!) i lowered it to L5 on my new controller, then went to go back to normal after leaving the city, and it wouldn;t budge.. left the car runnign for a while nothing... checked all fuses .. nothing.. next day i decided to jack the car up, and as i rolled it onto some bricks (cause i'm slack and dont want to start using the jack from the start of the screw thread) the compressor kicked in... Wierd.
Its annoying when i need to drive the car to certain places where height is a must.
Could it be faulty wiring? stuff in the sensors?? i dont know.. come to think of it, i think its happened after i washed the car on both occassions... its like the thing folds its arms.. sits down and says nup.... not moving..

Must be Mr Murphy, and his laws...
But no, not had that problem mate. Seems a weird one...
Does the height controller actually replace the standard SUS ECU, or is it just a signal bender? If it's just a signal bender, I'd say more than likely something with the SUS-ECU. Maybe dry joints, or something to that effect?

Suspension computer and/or solenoid valves. Possible height sensor.
All height controllers are piggy-back jobs. They mostly intercept the actual sensors and modify the output. I've never seen a fault that was the piggy-back controller; doesn't mean it can't happen. Dry joints in Sus ECU and sticky solenoids are the main faults.

One problem a lot of people encounter with airbag suspension is the height not coming back up after it has been lowered (usually while playing and trying different settings). If this happens turn everything off and walk away for a while. The Suspension ECU measures the current drawn by, and the running time of, the pump motor. If the ECU thinks the pump motor has been running too much and is too hot it will disable the drive to it. i.e. the pump won't work again until the motor has had time to cool. Artificially cooling the motor won't help as the ECU does not actually measure its' temperature, it calculates it from running time. Total reset will work but takes 15mins if not in 'track day' mode.

Thanks..
I would think the compressor woudl have cooled down (computer wise) over the 20hrs or so it wasn't working... so i think i'll rule that one out.
i'm thinking the solenoids... will give them a clean.. thing is its hard to know if you have the fixed the problem when it only happens every 6 months!
cheers again Mark and Jase.
Jase, we are gonna have to catch up soon hey! might be moving back to newe soon
