Ok while my soarer was in getting the new clutch put in, the guy checked my diff and said it is on the way out. He is a mate of a mate so know he isn't B/Sing me, but what I really want to know is, I have searched and read that the auto supra LSD fits into a soarer, is this the same for manual soarers? the other question is am I better to track done a new/rebuilt LSD or should I just get mine fixed.

If you havent guessed the stock diff in mine is a lsd.

any jza80 diff will fit any z30 soarer, EXCEPT a turbo manual jza80 diff.

Out of interest, what is wrong with it that its "on its way out" ? Does know about TORSEN diffs? I only ask because they don't normally wear out as such, they sometimes smash because of abuse, but havn't really seen one almost wear out. If he wasn't familiar with torsens (as opposed to a friction lsd) then it would definantly appear to be toast!

every thing is really sloppy the tailshaft has heaps of movment etc etc, I kinda expected it as it was a drifter in japan before it came here. He should know whathe is talking about coz he is there diff man. every one else at his work just does gear boxes and clutches

Make sure you only use a supra jza80 (not TT man) diff or a soarer one. Maybe Aristo, but can't confirm. NOTHING else will fit, not jza70, not chaser, not altezza etc etc. There's plenty of mis-information around about diff interchangability (not here fortunantly) so make sure you don't get stung buying the wrong bits.
Good luck!
