Does anyone want to recommend a good quality one and where to get it? The Porsche one I had was a handy and pretty accurate dial type but has failed within a year of purchase, being made of plastic (the pin broke off while wrestling with a German car). I prefer a dial or digital readout to a pencil gauge and it must have an angled attachment rather than direct or flat. Also, it must measure in kPa and hold the reading. Accurate and reliable performance is more important than price and, after the Porsche experience, robustness is also required.

David, I have a VDO guage, angled end and KPA, holds reading until you reset it.
Got it from my AutoPro store.

While busy breaking my tyre pressure gauge today, I noticed that the correct pressure for the space-saver spare is 420 kPa, or a touch over 60 psi. Mine was currently about 90 kPa or about 12 psi. Probably had not been looked at since it rolled out of the showroom. Worth a check if you have one of those little yellow things (I mean the space-saver spare).

Almost completely OT, some people write strange programs. To find the nearest Autopro store I went to
www.autopro.com.au and clicked on the feature to find your nearest store by postcode. Entered mine, and found nothing. I was sure there were some around Canberra somewhere so I entered 2900, the postcode for Tuggeranong where there might be one among the many auto-related businesses. Still nothing. I entered 2600 which is the Canberra GPO. No problem; there were five. In fact, one was listed in Tuggeranong, postcode 2900
