Hey guys,
for the past week or so, once i reach 57km/hr i get a howling/ whirring noise from the rear. This noise gets louder as speed increases and gets quite annoying and drony at around 100km/hr.
When I go around right hand bend, the noise gets louder, when I go around a left hand bend, the noise dissapears. When I hit a bump and the car bounces a bit, the noise dissapears also.
I thought it might have been a camber or alignment problem so I took it to bob jane and they said it was all good, and that it might be my dif making the noise. But that doesnt make much sense.
So, anyone know what might be up with my car? I figured this section would be suitable to post in.

Ryan - go out and do a real tight turn in the car, like you are doing a U-Turn in a narrow street. If the ass end feels jumpy and kind of 'loose' then it is the diff. If the car just makes big noise but but you feel no serious vibration from the rear, then it will be a Bearing.

Just keep driving till something lets go.
If it's the diff then you will roll slowly to a halt.
If it's a wheel bearing you will come to a halt in a screaming cloud of dust and sparks as your wheel rolls slowly past, coming to a stop further down the road.
And yes, I have seen this happen to some cocky's in a HQ ute on the calder highway, just south of faraday.

Take it to S+LC without delay. Sign the disclaimer and they'll loan you the PRIUS for the day. While your there you can drool over Craig Dean's awesome Mustang which they are prepping for Targa Tasmania - STIFFY !!!

Matt: WOW I hope its that. The drivers front wheel is WAY out of alignment too. Think I might take it to someone before I go replacing bearings what are OK.
