Hi everyone
Just replaced my front drivers side air strut and can`t get it to come up, tried disconecting battery and reconnecting,Is there a logical sequence to go through posted somewhere,I have tried the Archives but cant find one.
Do you think it could be the sensor on top of the strut and can the be swopped over to test or are they handed? any help or pointers would be appreciated

Sometimes they take ages to realize it needs to pump up..
Try starting car,,put foot on brake and put in drive..

When I put mine in (a couple of years ago now) the mechanic at Rushcutters Bay where I bought the air bag strut, said to bridge two of the terminals (sorry this is so vague, but it was 2 years ago) - they were in the engine bay right near the top of the strut. This started up the pump and it pumped up straight away. His number is in the system here in the Links page I think.

Thanks Neil and Murray
As soon as it stops being so hot here in Tassie I will go out with my sunblock "Umbrella?" and have another go

Ok Guys
Still have the problem, my passenger side rear is
up in the air and front drivers side way down. There appears to be some air in it. I loosened the lower control arm to get the old air strut out is it possible I have tightened it up to high/low?

Garry,
Their is a electrical cable that comes out of the top of the strut. It goes into a junction box that is mounted on a short steel mount bolted to the top of the inner guard. To get mine to initiate pump up, I opened this junction and bridged two of the terminals with a bit of copper wire. As I said earlier this was 2 years ago, but my memory was it was the 2 larger terminals.

Garry,
The guy I bought my strut off was Peter Pilkington at Rushcutters Bay 9328 6588. You might try giving him a ring if you want to check this procedure.

Hi Forum Gurus!!!!
I can now get the suspension to come up, it will stay up for a while then a soon as I switch the engine off it will go down on the front drivers side. I have found the drawings of the pump ect in the soarer bible but unfortunately all the directions are in Japanese!I have checked all obvious connections ect. to no avail. Should I order a new solenoid to try that next. or has any body got any other ideas
