Can anybody give me a heads up on the working of the Air Suspension (UZZ31).

Seems sometimes when I'm parked (engine off) the car stays 'norm'height, but then sometimes I notice it has gone 'high' all by itself - start the car and it lowers. Why? is this normal? Is there something I should read? why do the eye candy girls have tops on?

"why do the eye candy girls have tops on?"
maybe airbag issues also..
When you say "high all by itself" I take it you mean that the compressor turns on and the car raises?

If anything the suspension should be slightly lower if the car has been parked for a while - this is normal and is mentioned in the owners handbook

When you start teh car it should adjust itself to the correct height

Luke... Don't know if compressor goes on or not..but yes, the car is raised to the high level when I return to it..

Phil... Car does adjust when I start up - it goes back down to normal and can be seen lowering... I checked my hand book but it don't have the air suspension bit...

If the car has had passengers in it, and you turn it off and everyone gets out, the car doesn't get to adjust the ride height to its passengerless state. It will be sitting high as a result.

Food for thought Murray, thanks.. will keep an eye on things to see if there is a common denominator like passengers

Also if you are on an angle or have just driven over a steep driveway etc and stop, the suspension will try to level itself and usually finish up high. As long as it resets itself when you start up again it should be OK

I know a guy that was having the same problem. Turned out to be a slow leak in the air bag and he had to get both front ones replaced.

I don't think a slow leak would make it sit high. When mine had a leak it used to slump down over night.

This guys slow leak was making the air compressor kick in to compensate... apparently... this is second hand info... :-(

Hey thanks heaps,

Gary, your comments are note worthy, yes I drive up a slope to park in the garage and yes, at the Shopping centres of course I bounce over speed humps. In my local they have heaps of speed mountains and some double humps for the trucks.. So I think your on to something...

You say that but I've heard my compressor kick in a couple of times with the engine off...

OK. New one to me. It did not respond to the switch so this must be a period of compensation it has after you stop. Cits did that so I guess I should not be surprised.
