Are there any potential problems in mixing transmission oils? I have found my oil level is low but don't know what kind of oil is in the transmission. I have some oil at home but am unsure if it is the same. Any thoughts?

If it was my car I would take a stab in the dark and assume it has the recommended Toyota Type 4 as that is the most common one used since there are many Soarer articles around saying it's the only one to use. But like Neil says some owners have since switched to full synthetic without problems.

If your transmission starts to play up after the top up, just do a complete flush with new oil - problem solved. There are tutorials around on how to do it.

Thanks guys, I think I will take the chance and top it up as I would rather do that than do greater damage by having the level too low.
