Hey all

while doing some research into Cressida's I found this link. This should work on a Soarer

That fluid hasn't gone brown. It probably still had plenty of life left in it.

This will work on any auto with and external cooler.

LOL I made that guide up :-)

I changed the fluid because they had put the wrong stuff into my auto, against my requests. I do mine every 20,000 or so.

I've got an add on Q to flushing, is there an oil filter inside these gearboxes and if so do you guys change those?

There is but it's just a fine wire mesh. It won't stop very small particles the way an engine oil filter does, only larger ones that you can see. There are also 3 magnets stuck to the bottom of the oil pan. If they've never been cleaned, I suggest taking the pan off and cleaning them.

After 75000km my magnets were covered in black metal dust but the filter was clean. I just washed mine in kero and re-installed it.

Before you crack the pan off, get a hold of a gasket. You'll most likely distort the pan during removal. Unless you've got a press to straighten it, you may end up with an oil leak if you rely on silicone gasket sealant.

Thanks for the info there mate, very handy indeed!

My pan was off not long ago for an oil change and i have noticed a leak around the gasket recently, so your right there.

I'm installing a shift kit soon so will do this all at once. :-)

If your shift kit didn't come with a cork gasket, you might want to get MV auto to send you one before you start.
