Hi all,
I was wondering if I have incorrect clutch lines from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder on my Soarer. I am in the final stages of getting the car going, and I can't seem to figure this bit out. I have a solid line going from the clutch slave cylinder on the passenger side of the car, over the transmission to the drivers side of the car. I also have a small solid line going from the Clutch Master Cylinder to about the middle of the transmission tunnel (Which I find very strange?) In Photo A you can see that the master cylinder line does not connect up to the master cylinder when I have the line from the slave cylinder connected to it (Flexible hose from the master cylinder line to the slave cylinder line). I am fairly sure that the slave cylinder line is correct because it has a bend in it where it goes over the starter motor, but I can't seem to get them to join.

In photo B you can see that the slave cylinder line gets to the drivers side of the car, then curves back on itself (Blue Line), and this makes the master cylinder line go to the centre of the car and also curve back on itself (Red Line)

Can anyone tell me if I have the wrong part somewhere? Or if I have assembled it incorrectly?

The solid line you are putting in the wrong spot.

It goes from Master along firewall ( clips are there to hold it all in) follow the brake lines, then down the passengers side firewall ( clips there as well ) to a mounting position on the lower chassis rail. From there it will conect to a rubber line, then that will connnect to the small steel line for the slave.

So these 2 parts are correct? The Solid line connects to the Slave cylinder on the gearbox and curls back around on itself and connects to the flex line, and the other solid line runs from the master cylinder, along the fire wall and down the passenger side of the car and in to the flex line?

EDIT: The reason I ask is because the other longer solid line that I now imagine runs from the Master cylinder and along the firewall has a 180 degree bend at both ends. Maybe that is the part that is wrong...

You got that rit emate..

The large steel line should have been at a 45deg angle.

These are the 3 pieces of line I got. Let me know what you think. I think the long hard line is incorrect, as it will basically go up from the master cylinder, along the firewall, down the passenger side, then back along under the gearbox and end up on the wrong side (As it is a U shaped tube).

That long steel pipe will do the trick..
It's just bent a little in the wrong way.

Did you see the clips that hold the line along the firewall ?

yep, the one that runs with the brake lines along the top of the Firewall. It would take a bit of bending to get it in there. The thing that is disturbing me the most is that the hose goes from the top of the firewall, down the passenger side if the gearbox where it should meet up with the flexible line, but this one goes down past the flexible line then turns and comes back up again, creating a loop between it, the flexible line and the solid line from the Slave Cylinder.

Oh well, it is in, and it works, it just looks horrible :-(
