My mechanic flushed my trans and replaced my trans fluid (i'm not sure what type he used) the car ran great for a few days but i took it for a decent length drive the other day and now it holds on to first way to long and i have to take my foot off the gas for it to shift into second ...
Could this be caused by using the wrong type of fluid or it something else ?

checked the oil level it was fine .. did a ecu reset , still no change .. dropped the fluid and put new stuff in ... and once again no change ..
my boss said it could be a vacuum line or some thing but i have no idea what that is .. so guess i'm off to a trans shop after new years ... any one know a good place in Brisbane ??

why is your name so familiar nathan ??
Did you used to live around the BARDON area in Brissy?
Dont really have much advice for you re the tranny, but my mate had a similar problem with his 300zx and we tried everything (flushs, cleans, ecu resets) it turned out it was some kinda wiring drama. Stupid nissans

Yeah my car has been doing it since i bought it. It only used to do it when i was shifting through the gears but now it seems to do it when i let it shift for itself. Ive checked the oil level and done an ECU reset but had no luck.

ive had the exact same problem as you fellas and i am bout to putt second hand (slightly newer) solenoids in... i will let you know if thats what the problem is.. my problem started just after i upgraded to 3 inch exhaust.. so i am thinking the 16 yr old solenoid couldn't handle the powa haha

Hey Matthew, did changing the solenoids fix the problem? Where did you get the solenoids from and how much were they if you dont mind me asking? Im thinking about installing a stage 1 shift kit in the next few weeks, i wonder if this may fix my problem?

na mate.
valve body is up the and all my clutches are a little rooted lol. swapping gearboxes. cheapest option is jus to bite the bullet and do a gear box change my friend. a fresh box will handle ya shift kit better as well...
Werner.

I tightened the kick down cable last night and took it for a spin. Made the problem alot worse and second gear was starting to slip. Strange thing is that it changes perfectly when i only have about 90% throttle. Only when i have full throttle i get the problem. So by the looks of it im up for a new box, not really happy as i just forked out $1000 for a new LSD

My Celsior, had a similar problem with shifting, except i replaced the box, and the newer one hard shifts from reverse to drive and visa versa, and shifts at around 2k rev regardless of throttle...
anyone know what could be causin that?? im thinkin solenoids??
