Since I did the blue dash, I noticed a few bulbs were missing out of the dash, one of which was the O/D lamp. Since replacing this, I get a flashing O/D off when I am driving the car. Any ideas?

I've had a quick look at the gearbox testing page, but trying to read a multimeter display when doing 60k/hr+ isn't really that easy, anything else I could try?

I have had the battery disconnected a few times since this began for various reasons, so there is obviously no stored codes left, something current maybe?

Have also been getting rear brake light warnings as I have no centre lamp assembly at the moment, related at all?

Weird thing is that the gearbox appears to function normally and without any issues. Although last time I had the car up on a hoist, I did notice a plug on the end of a wire hanging next to the box (passenger side) we had a look but couldn't find anything for it to plug into. Should we look harder, or is it just there for some other reason?

Cheers guys.

Hmmm if thats not the case, Maybe some components in the circuit have been damaged due to a small static shock while handling them? Just an idea...

Ok, diagnosis worked today, I get a flashing of 6 OD off lights, followed by 7. If my interpretation of this is right that means that I have an issue with the 'O/D direct clutch speed sensor', sound about right?

Next question is wtf is that and wtf do I do about it?

I also got a EFI NG (does this mean 'not good'?) and a number 25, O2 sensor?

It's a sensor that's on the passenger side of the box up high (and quite possibly related to the plug that's floating loose)

Can take a photo tomorrow if it helps?

That is where the loose wire is so that would be f'en sweet mate!!! Much obliged. Also, when I was romaging through the car after purchase, I found a receipt that said the gearbox had been replaced about 5 months prior to me buyin it, with one from a '70 series supra. Ok, so they had the same engine, but are the gearboxes exactly the same, or does the soarer have anyhting soarer specific on it that I should know about?

Ok, just got back from doing my brake lines, on a hoist :-)

While there I thought I'd fix this issue, it appears that I do not have that connection, or any provision for it on my gearbox, guess there is a differance between the 1J ma70 and jzz30 then :-(
