Ok I'll see if I can kill a couple of birds with one stone...

1. Speed sensors on the auto boxes, are they different between the TT and V8 or can you swap them around if need be?

2. If they are indeed different does anyone have the parts numbers for the speed sensors for speedo drive on the TT auto?

3. How do I wire up a switch for the lockup solenoid as I have a 3K Stally. (If anyone just has a wiring diagram I could follow maybe?)

4. I've heard rumors that the lockup solenoid is not overly strong. Will using a switch shorten it's life by much?

Muchly appreciated,
Hanré

Don't know 1&2.

3. Search for how to install an MV autos shift box. I wrote it. I can't remember off the top of my head but it has the wiring diagrams and the colours of wire you need. There is a 4 wire plug from memory. All you need to do is get a 12v power source run it to one side of the switch and run the other side to the wire which you just chopped off the plug. I don't know if this will cause an ECT error.

4. I think it is the actual lockup clutch not the solenoid. What are you using it for? As I understand it, it should never be locked when you are changing gear and it isn't great to use it under WOT. However, I plan on doing that this weekend :-)

Thanks Chris I'll have a search for that thread. I want to use it while I'm driving around town so I don't have to rev the tits off of it whilst just going under 50k's.

Let me know how you get on after the weekend with yours. Hopefully just using it around should not cause allot of damage. If something blows up however it'll give a good reason to switch to manual though...

Thanks for the above Don. I'm going to grab the sensor from Darryn and just test it anyway to see what sort of differences there are between the two. I don't suspect they should function too differently so it's a worth some testing!!
