Hi guys, i hope this is in the correct section.
I have a 91 Soarer TT, only mods being an FMIC, Cat-back exhaust, a BFI & running a shade over 10psi (no boost controller).
The problem with it is I can-not stall the engine up anything over roughly 2100rpm, the wheels start spinning and thats that. My boost gauge at best reads about 1 PSI at these RPM's and as such, i get fairly slow 1/4 mile times with terrible 60ft's.
My rear tyres are 235/45/17, Dunlop Le Mans LM702 with a lot of tread still left.
Please can anyone tell me if its possible to adjust the stall at all? OR am i just stuck with this until i eventually go down the Big Single, built tranny path?

Wheel spinning at 2100 on standard stally means your rear brakes are rubbish. Try stalling with both handbrake and footbrake applied and see what happens. I have this problem as well after I changed brake pads were I wheel spin over 3200rpm, and using both brakes is the way around it or you have to install biasing valve.

hey guys, i have the superchaged v8 with the TT brake system but it'll get to 1800rpm and get spin so the charger isn't within its best area so its a lil sluggish till it gets going. will these brake ideas apply to me as well?!

Daniel : Sorry for the slow reply mate!
I was at Willowbank last May. My best time was as follows:
60ft: 2.271 ET: 14.629 @ 98.58MPH
This was with a Catback exhaust & an FMIC running 10psi according to the gauge. I was launching at 2000rpm and just letting the Transmission do the shifting.
I cant wait to see what difference this will make.

Joshua, it's an unusual use for the brake pads, so normal thinking goes out the window. You aren't using them to stop a spinning rotor, you are using them to keep a stopped rotor stopped.
First suggestion would be to fit TT rear brakes as they add 16% more braking force due to the extra leverage.
Then I would be thinking soft pad, and definitely NOT a performance pad, as they need to get hot to work properly.
Which probably brings it back to OEM or the Lucas which have more bite even when cool.
I have TT rears and Lucas pads on my GT40 and I can't spin the wheels with the brakes on - I used to be able to. I know it's not as much grunt as a S/C but it's pretty healthy for a stock V8.
