Hi Everyone,
I need your help (again!). I need to buy a gearbox crossmember mount for my post '94 R154. After doing the conversion I found that I have the wrong one, which is making driving horrible. The one I need is the mount that comes down to a flat bottomed V shape and has 6 bolt holes, 3 on either side. The one I have currently is the correct shape but only has 2 bolt holes along the bottom, and one at the top (Where there is no bolt hole in the gearbox so I can't use that hole). So I am currently only using 2 bolts, which allows the gearbox to pivot on them.

I have now moved to Perth, so I no longer have access to a lot of the tools I once had access to, so now I can't simply drill new holes in the existing mount, I will need to purchase a new one (And would prefer to anyway)

Any help is appreciated, such as, is this mount the same as an Australian produced car such as the Hilux or something, and if so, do you know the Australian Part number?

Thanks you!

Looks like the only mount listed is the one that I have, with only 4 holes (2 of which are in the wrong place) rather than 6 holes.

Anyone else seen this before and know what I am talking about?

Troy,
Your problem is that you have a JZA box that only had those holes in it.
Your only options are
Drill & Tap new holes ( Easiest )
Change Extension Housings ( Could be done insitu, but is a little tricky )

ONLY a JZA Trans mount will bolt to the holes you have, BUT, it has the wrong xmember mounting :-(

Awesome, thanks for the help Neil.

When you say Drill and tap new holes, I hope you don't mean in the gearbox to fit the two top bolts to the gearbox mount?

I have booked the car in to get 4 holes drilled in to the gearbox mount so that I can use the original 6 bolt holes in the gearbox.

Is this an acceptable solution, or will it weaken the mount to much?

Only need 4 bolts mate,,Not 6.

Yes.. Make threads in the Extension Housing.

OR,
Drill 2 holes in the Trans Mount maybe !!
