Hi guys,

Well I know this topic has definitely been explored before (believe me i've read every post) but no one has actually come up with an answer!

So this is my problem... the typical O/D flashing, not going into overdrive, not taking off in first gear, not changing down by itself.

All of these things happen but not all the time & not necessarily all at once. So my understanding that this doesn't happen all the time is that it is less likely to be a mechanical problem & more likely to be electrical.

First of all I ran diagnostics, came up with faulty Solenoid 2. OK. So I rang Mike from MV automatics & spoke to him a few times. He gave me some tests to do to test the solenoids. Plugged voltmeter into ECU, tested as fine.

So next I thought perhaps it could be the wiring for my AVC-R interfering with something, so I unplugged it & reset my ECU. Still same problems occurring.

Then had my boyfriend check out the ECU (don't ask me what he did) but he seems to think that there's nothing wrong with it.

I've now hit a wall and can't think of anything else that it could be & I KNOW other people have had this problem & was just wondering what they actually did to fix it?

Any help is much appreciated! Trying to avoid taking it to a shop where they will charge me hundreds of dollars to "guess" what my problem is or tell me they have no idea what it could be.

If it is erratic, then I would agree, sounds like dodgy electronics. First thing I would be looking at is the wiring, especially where add-ons connect in.

It does sound like a crook solenoid. Mine did the same thing til I replaced it. Try applying 12V to the solenoid and see if it changes gears.

Yeah, Just run a Toggle switch to it and try driving the car then. See how it goes.

If giving it direct 12v from the battery makes it change, then its the wiring somewhere, if its still no good, porbably the solenoid.
