Better off getting it done by a pro mate. That way it gets flushed properly while the cars running and refilled with lovely, clean, uncompromised tranny fluid. We're lucky here in Canberrrrra...We've got Neil.

And i wouldn't trust either of those places, or ultratune, they all suck. Pretty sure a couple of guys here in SA can recommend a good transmission place. Where abouts in SA are you?

Can anyone tell me; My soarer seems pretty slow through the gears and pretty slow to kick back, would a tranny flush help this? Also, car seems to be pretty sluggish at low RPM no matter what gear. What could that be? Is it just getting old? Ever since the Victorian cruise the other week my car feels as though it's lost power.

I paid $292 all up for a regular car service and an auto transmission service (flush). The place has a dyno, so I think they can run it through all the gears right there in the shop - makes an auto flush HEAPS easier.

Ok people so i have spoken to Michael at MV automatics about the problem and he says its a shift solenoid problem. which is going to be about $400 to repair.

Not good Candice, i've spent around $2000 on repairs already on mine and I bought it in September. Fuel smell, Power steering pump, brakes, serpentine belt and pulleys. Now I need a tranny flush and the suspension is fcked.
I was gonna buy a BA XR8, but loved the soarers too much. Maybe the XR8 would have been a more sensible option, or so my girlfriend continues to remind me.

anyone know a good place to get the auto flushed in Perth? south of the river would be better but I will travel if the place is top notch. My gear box is making a "Whiring" sound kinda sounds like this...ready??..."Vooopmh,voomph,voomph and so on but only when I reach about 60ks hope I don't need to replace the sucka! >.< anyone else hear any strange "Whiring" noises? It actually reminds me of one of those pods racers in the first and very sh1tty Star wars movie with kid Anakin skywalker.

That doesn't sound too good Mal.
If you like, I have a personal mechanic SOR near Cannington who is Toyota specialist and has done quite a bit of work on mine including a gearbox swap and flush.
He may not be able to fix the whiring noise as to me, sounds like something big, but he will diagnose it for you and let you know, then you can give the go ahead with what to do next. Just shoot me a PM and I'll give you his details.

The Toyota dealer in Melville (i think) has a setup to do a forced fluid flush.. where they not only drain it but have a machine to force fluid through to clean it all out. They should also replace the filter a the same time.
...however it doesnt come cheap. Expect anything over $230.
My advise after around with my auto tranny only to have it replaced in the end is to get a specialist mechanic who knows about Soarers (ie, Hollywood Joe).
You will probably find that replacing the box with one from a wreckers will work out better price wise. If you can stretch for enough you might even want to get a box rebuilt, although they are pretty reliable if they have been looked after.
