A Whole gearbox conversion, as in auto to Manual or just replacing a gearbox?

most r154 conversions go for the $4k mark just for the parts, all 2nd hand.

parts shouldnt cost more than 3000, the toyshop in cardiff was selling conversion kits for 2500 not long ago.

Yeah But you would want to install New SLave cylinder, New Master cylinder New Clutch + Pressure plate as well as new throwout bearing.

SOmetimes its just easier to buy a Manual TT from the factory. I know Poor old SHane is still having the smallest of issues with his after he done his conversion.

That's right Daniel, it would be ideal to buy new Master and Slave cylinders, as well as a new clutch when performing a conversion.

You can pick up a W58 for much cheaper then $2,500 though.. So if you want to go that way then go ahead.

The clutch is the killer. Excedy or nothing! Friggin Extreme clutches, useless in traffic, cant take the heat, rattle like a freight train and generally suck, but thats why they are cheap.

I have a W55 or was that W57? It bolts up to the W58 bell housing. You can have it for a few hundred if you want. :-)

ok thank you heaps guys i'm not going to cut conners ill do it properly but i don't understand what this w55 or w57 or w58 means i am only new to all this and still learning i take it they are different gear boxers i wont a supra 5 speed turbo
