I have got a leak coming from the front top of my A341 box. This problem didn't seem to just happen one day more slowly started. I can tell this by the smell it makes when dripping on the exhaust. The other factor to my problem is it only leaks when the car is pushed hard. Pressure.

I'm keen to hear from you guys before getting the car up and having a good look. Where can it leak from? If its my torque converter seal why does it just come from the top of the box? Service says it has been running on Dex3 for 50,000k. Long term damage?

One other note. My solenoids are gone and i have a new' set waiting to go in. Just waiting to get the oil. Should I just buy another gearbox... ?

Is the gearbox over full?

There is a one way valve on top to release built up pressure (from temperature changes, fluid vapor, etc) and/or excess fluid.

I've got a dark patch near mine but this is due to oil vapour coming out and and condensing on the surrounding metal.

If you don't have a shift kit, I'd change to toyota type 4 fluid.

I've seen a few leak from torque converter seals after abuse, but I had a leak from the rubber lines on mine that run to the tranny cooler/radiator.
Never seen one leak from the top though, could be the valve as mentioned above.

Solenoids are cheap, but so are boxes...bit of an unknown though when buying a 2ndhand box.

Mine is leaking from the torque converter seal..

Does anyone have the part number for the torque converter seal?

Is there anything tricky about it, or is it pop the old seal and bang a new one in. I have to take the gearbox out again, this is the third one in under 1000k's damn! But should allow me to get it all sorted in one big hit.

My soarer is a 2nd car and I havn't fixed the leak on mine at all. It goes fine still. Takes a long time before the oil level drops. Yet to look at cooler lines.

I also fixed the solenoids not problems at all.
