This question dosn't relate to a Soarer, but the Cobra does have a 1UZ V8 and R154 gearbox. I need a speedo speed sensor that I can use in a early turbo Soarer(R154) gearbox. As the original sensor sticks out from side of the gearbox a fair bit it hits the chassis so I removed it and used the ABS speed sensor. The problem is that it appears the signal from the ABS speed sensor saturates at around 70 kph and speedo stops working. I have seen a picture of the VSS on IJZ manual Soarer(SC300) which is low profile and would be suitable, but i am unsure where I would be able to get one or if they are the same. Are the MKIV W58 the same sensor as used in the Soarer R154? Is anyone aware of a lower profile VSS that will fit into the Soarer gearbox. I tried to fit a right angle drive but it still hit the chassis. I have attached a picture of the bottom part of the sensor that goes into the gearbox. Its gear is 29mm in dia and body part with the O ring is 34mm dia. Thanks Warren
