Hey just wondering if anyone here has installed the A340E automatic shift controller from MV automatics.

Ive got the unit wired in, but sum ting wong, as it shifts from 1st to 3rd (D to 2) and goes into 4th (OD) when shifted to position D.

I have added relays before and after as per Chris Daveys thread, but I still have some power in there somewhere, as even the OD light on the dash is still slightly visible, i.e. its getting power when I click the overdrive on.

Also, are my box appears to have different colored solenoid lug on the g'box. The plug im looking at is located towards the rear passenger side of the box, but not right up the back where the tailshaft connects (there are two plugs here as well, neither are black and white)

The plug im looking at has a Pea Green, and a Red and White, and a Yellow wire (total of three wires in this plug.

Anyone got tranmission wiring diagrams>

Cheers,

Aaron

Where are you getting the signal for the gear changes?

All these boxes have different colored wire.

Red +ve
black -ve

green 1st signal
brown 2nd signal
yellow 3rd signal

blue sol B
white sol A

Switch box off for OD

Also run +ve through a relay and get the -ve from the OD button to close the circuit. once to switch to OD the power will shut down

Okay, got all the working except for OD!!

I have it shifting nicely into 1st. 2nd. and 3rd, but i cant get into OD/4TH. I have relays on the power to OD switch, have tried using a totally different switch, but keep ending up with 2-3v in the shift box. Where is it coming from?

I had the same problem & so have others Aaron.

Use the OD switch to supply -ve Not +ve to the relay.

Stupid question, but what exactly does the shift kit do?

Woooot!

I have a working gearbox controller! For some reason, when I use the OD switch to control the OD/power the shift box, it doesnt work. When I use an external switch, it works fine!!

So, I will mount an illuminated OD push on/push off switch mounted on teh trans console.

Tobias: A shift kit cut the slippage and time between gear changes on an automatic
transmission. An MV Shift kit involves replacing/modifying the valve body (and other stuff) but thats not what we are talking about here.

I have just installed an MV autos shift box, which allows you to have complete control of your shifts.
