Hey guys, I have an R154 gearbox off a 1J MKIII Supra (non remote shifter). I was wondering if the box mount off a Soarer would bolt up to the R154 and MKIV Supra chassis? When I mean mount I mean the x-member opposed to the rubber mount. the Supra was originally Auto. Mind you I dont mind buying whatever combo works.

Hi Andrew, THe R154 should mount up to the chassis with an auto crossmember. Did you end up converting the MK111 box to a Soarer shifter setup, non remote? They both take the same rubber mount and as such should accept the same crossmember. When we convert to manual the auto crossmember fits so it should be the same on the supra, having basically the same auto.

Hey Andrew!
Yes the shifter is at 2JZswap.com getting modified at the moment.
The R154 does not mount up with the auto x-member because the rubber mount has a round metal component which goes through the R154 mount. The auto x-member doesnt have provision for this part of the mount.
I will take some pics today... maybe I just need a new rubber mount type?

Are you using the auto mount, because that won't work. You need the r154 mount and bolt that to the gearbox and then x memeber to that. The mounts are cheap, i think my last one was $45.

I have the R154 mount on the MKIII Supra gearbox, factory. Neither x-member in the pics above (R154 from MKIII Supra and MKIV Auto x-member), work with the R154 (MKIII Supra) mount on the MKIV chassis.

OK i thought the mkiv auto would have fit. To my knowledge the r154 mount is the same for jzz30 and jza70. Looks like you may have to go custom x member.
