2JZSwap.com / Tech2Motorsports shifter: A review

Well I sent this shifter away to get modified, I was aware they were not the cheapest in town, but was expecting a really good job that would save me a bit of time in working the distances out etc. So I sent the shifter across the world to them here are some of the outcomes:

1. I was told it was a 2-3 day turnaround, turned into 2 weeks.
2. The shifter flange is warped from the heat of the welding, about 2mm off flat now. Hopefully the gasket still holds.
3. The shifter was about 1 inch too short (yes I told them the box and chassis and even sent pics).
4. The link that joins the shifter to the gear selector was bent in the complete wrong direction, so it hit the bottom of the plate and because of this you cant even get it on with the gasket in place.
5. Communication was extremely difficult and slow.

Generally speaking it was a terrible and very expensive transaction. They did offer to repair the work, but freighting the part on the other side of the world at my cost again and for another month did not appeal since the car is about ready to drive. The quality of the welding was good, which is the only plus side, even though it doesnt matter since it all has to be modified again.
