The extension housing on my gearbox has developed a leak. I'm guessing it's from the heat that comes off the exhaust.

I've got rush headers and a cross pipe. Does anyone have a picture of a heat shield that they've used to between the gearbox and exhaust?

Thanks.

Anish,
It aint leaking from the heat..
Just AGE..

It is a very skinny seal that is in the 3 Prong thing..NOT the housing.

Thanks Neil. I thought that initially but couldn't see any fluid stains around the output shaft.

I took it to a transmission place and they claimed the leak was from the extension housing, not the seal. They were going to reseal the housing, install a new output shaft seal and new speed sensor o-ring while they had the extension off the car.

I guess I'll just get it done and see how long it lasts. The leaking fluid destroyed a new transmission mount within 6 months.
