Hey guys

Just recently my car has started shifting early, on power modes it will only rev to 5500rpm in 1st gear, and 4900rpm in 2nd gear. I have tried it in all different configurations - over drive off, power on, power off, etc etc and it still does it. The car is getting same power and boost as normal but just shifting alot earlier than it did before. Does anyone have suggestions on what I could do to fix this issue? Is becoming very annoying! :-(

Car is a JZZ30 Soarer with no mods.

Car seems to be running a little richer than normal and idling at 1300rpm too even when warm.

Try resetting the computer by disconnecting the neg battery terminal for a couple of minutes.

Jeff, just pull the EFI fuse ( the round can like fuse), from the under bonnet fuse box , then replace it after a 30 second wait. Disconnecting the battery means you'll have to reset clocks , radio tuning etc.

Pulling EFI fuse wont reset gearbox!! Need to pull the dome fuse as well for that, but I figure, "what the hell" and just reset everything. My car seems to like it.

Don't you have to wait for 15 minutes for a full computer reset in a TT as you have to in a V8?

The 15 minute wait is only for the air suspension computer so TT's don't have to wait

(you can make it quicker in the air suspension cars by fitting 'Track Day' link to diagnostics)

Someone said something about when the ECU temp sensor is not working properly the car runs rich and seems to run hotter than usual - how would one verify and fix this problem ?
