I have recently started to notice that the soarer (91V8UZZ31) seems to be not driving at the proper lower gear when starting off, indicated by slowed response, and when floored, a gear drop down and faster acceleration. Throughout lower speeds the response seems to be poor- it feels like the car is trying to go at a higher gear than its supposed to, as the symptoms improve past 80-90km/h. Also, I have noticed a 'bump/thumble' when slowing down to about 15km/h.
The only recent thing thats been done is the rear left suspension has been lowered using Peter Scott's tute, to match with the right rear (which I believe was lower than the left). The problem started couple of days after this had been done.
I have checked and topped up the tranny fluid with type IV (Thanks to Brendan), improved for a day, but started again. Also, restarting the ECU and tranny computer helped improve, but only for a day.
Any ideas guys? Good tranny places in Adelaide to go to? Brendan recommended one, so thinking of catching up with him.

Hi Tahmid, sounds like your S1 shift solenoid is dying/dead. Pull your ECU codes, I'll bet you get a code 62. Call MV automatics, they should be able to supply you another solenoid. If S1 solenoid goes, you will only have 3rd and 4th gear until it is replaced.

$80ea for reco ones I think. Or was it $80pr, can't remember, I bought mine a year ago. MV's number is 08 8370 0430, they should be able to tell you. They also do some aftermarket ones for around $200. Rostrum or some brand.
