Hey I think I've blown another tranny. The first time it let go it started slipping really bad and the oil was smelly, black and burnt.

THIS time is different...
I was driving along went to put my foot down... no kick down. Got to the lights took off, all gear changes at 3800 and no 4th gear- what the?

If i drive it like a manual it changes fine but still no 4th gear till 140km/h.

What have I done this time?

Try an ECU reset if its shifting fine manually. Don't like the sound of no 4th gear though.

Check the kick down cable?

When my box went... it was slightly slipping on the changes, after prolonged driving, it wouldn't go into 4th AT ALL.

It's times like these, you wish you could do a manual conversion...

I had a similar problem. My mechanic changed the oxygen sensor on the exhaust and now all is ok. You can use a aftermarket sensor from repco. That might fix it

True George... The 02 sensor can play havoc with gearshift issues.
