hey guys i have a 1993 soarer tt and teh auto for some reason when im full throttle shifts at 4500 - 5000 but not always just some times it will shift way to early and sometimes it will actually shift at 6800 - 7000, this is in Drive not in manual mode so has anyone got any ideas? i have no warnings or anything like that

Try doing an ECU reset. After the ecu reset, start the car and run it through the gears...

Do this while stationary. Move the shiftter and leave it in each position for 3 seconds.

P > R > N > D > 2 > 1 > 2 > D > N > R > P.

See if this helps any, then take the car for some driving.

does the car run poorly sometimes and wont idle? if so, your 02 sensor has wires inside it that are intermittently touching and causing problems. mine did this, and the box wouldn't rev past about 4500rpm before changing gear. No one knew why. My auto electrician found the fault,replaced the sensor and gear changes returned to normal.

yeah it idles really low some days and then other days its fine! so it must be the 02sensor il have to go buy one and see how if it fixes the problem!

your car is only the second one to suffer from this as far as i am aware. Truly,this type of thing shows the value of an international forum.

do you know where i can get a 02 sensor from? toyota in melbourne want 320 dollars!
