Im looking at changing my auto gearbox, on my 92TT, as mine is on its way out. Just wondering if its the kind of job that I should get a mechanic to do or have a crack at myself. I have done a bit of work on my car over the last year or 2 but nothing as big as removing a gearbox. I have access to all the tools required to do the job. If I was to have a go myself, what seals etc should I be replacing and is there anything special that I need to know about removing the box? Thanks in advance..

its easy just make sure the convertor is unbolted from the flexplae/Flywheel.
it is a big job as you will need to unbolt the exhaust systemto get at the tailshaft unbolt linkages from shifter. unplug all electrics undo gearbox mounts unbolt all bolts to the engone and dont forget to take dipstick out also.
